FGH is looking for a Communication & Event Manager

The Flanders Game Hub (FGH) is hiring a communication and event manager!

The Flanders Game Hub strengthens the Flemish Game Ecosystem by:

- Coaching game startups to professionalize and grow their game business

- Connecting all stakeholders in the ecosystem

- Sharing knowledge and networks by organizing events and expert talks

The Flanders Game Hub is looking for a passionate new team member to help us in our mission. The person we are looking for is pro-active, reliable and able to work in an independent way. This new team member is flexible and has the right start-up mindset to connect the different activities of the FGH (Unwrap, Incubation, Events).

On the communication side the job entails:

• Managing FGH socials: content calendar, posting, community management
• Managing UNWRAP socials (in collaboration with comms agency)
• Creating content for FGH socials and/or website: image and video
• Managing content on the FGH Website/UNWRAP website
• FGH Vault with expert talks
• Manage blogs and/or newsletters with PR agency
• Follow up FGH mailbox/UNWRAP mailbox
• Highlighting the FGH game startups in any possible way

Skills necessary:

• Solid knowledge of social media channels used by FGH (twitter, meta, linkedin)
• Being able to create visually appealing assets (image, video) using appropriate software
• Copywriting skills (in English)
• Hands-on and go-getter. We have great studios and we do great work. It is your job to make sure the world knows about it.
• We are a very small team and we have a lot of ambition so you will have to find the ideal balance between working independently and checking off regularly with your team members.
• ·The day to day planning will happen in close collaboration with our Incubation manager.

On the event side the job entails:

Events (incl marketing en social campaigns)

Setting up smaller events for the FGH all over Flanders and Brussels

• Expert talks (online)
• Workshops (online and offline)
• Investor pitches
• Network events

Representing FGH at fairs

• We represent our game startups at international fairs, oa. Gamescom (Cologne) or Indigo (Utrecht) or GDC (San Francisco)
• We rely on you to make all necessary practical arrangements with the fair organizers (registrations, tickets, booth packages AND marketing materials)
• You will be on the booth, representing the FGH
• Operational event manager for Unwrap (www.unwrap.be)
• Large event, once a year (November, Kortrijk)
• You will be in charge of event production: logistiscs, catering, planning, crew, etc
• You will work closely with the Global PM for Unwrap and other team members responsible for the programme, partnerships, sales, etc
• You are practical, well organised, reliable, stress-resistant, pro-active and an open communicator/team player.

Although remote work is possible, we prefer you to work from our HQ in Kortrijk on a daily basis.

Salary and conditions will depend on the level of experience of the candidate. The games industry is a passion-driven rock-and-roll business. If you want to be part of this wonderful ecosystem, without making games yourself, this might be the perfect job for you.
